Victor Home Recording Record. These records require a special stylus (needle) that is larger than the typical 78rpm stylus.

Letter record from WWII recorded at the USO

This is the same record before and after cleaning. The waxy gray residue is from the decomposition of the acetate coating on the aluminum core. The decomposition can't be reversed, repaired or stopped. The residue can only be removed.
